Screen print is a way to print a design on a shirt with ink instead of thread which is used in embroidery. There are two different ways to print a logo on a shirt with ink.

The way that everyone knows is called Traditional Screen print. With traditional screen print there is a screen made for each color to be printed. In the picture to the left, the grey shirt is printed the traditional way. It is a one color design so only one screen had to be made.
Traditional screen print is great for a variety of instance:
-A design that only has a couple colors
-When many shirts need to be made but there is a low budget
-When the shirts are to passed out for such things as a race
-When a large design is wanted for a t-shirt or sweatshirt
-When the shirts will be worn for a specific event and there needs to be some recognition
The second way is Digital Printing. This technique is actually the newer, lesser known way to print on shirts. With this method the shirt actually goes through a printer similar to the way a piece of paper goes through a printer. With digital printing a design with many colors can be printed which is harder and sometimes impossible to do with traditional printing. An example of this is the white shirt above. The details of the concrete block ar
e only possible with digital printing. With traditional printing the block would have looked like a dark grey blog on the shirt. With digital printing the details of the block are visiable.
Some of the key ways that that the digital printing is better than traditonal:
-There are many colors in the design.
-A photograph is to be printed on a shirt
-There are details in the design that will be lost with traditional printing
